Weekly Fight Practices

Note: The site is located at the corner of Elizabeth Street and Genesee St., downtown Utica, across from the Radisson Hotel.
Park in the lots on Elizabeth Street and meet at the side door at 7 pm. The door is kept locked so you must be there at 7pm.

The shire fight practice is dominated by the shire fighters practicing
their various fighting skills, and help new members who are interested
to learn to fight using Rattan swords, in accordance to SCA rules.
Along with mock combat and archery - just to name a few.

Note The site is located on the corner of N. Washington and W. Embargo. Please use the door on the W. Embargo St. side. There is room for arts & sciences and fencing, and a small kitchen for cooking
There is room for local members to gather together and discuss shire news, event
news, as well as various arts and sciences such as history, culture,
music, dance, fencing, armoring, heraldry, embroidery,
costuming, calligraphy, cooking and brewing - just to name a few.
Æthelmearc Fall Crown Tournament

The Shire of Coppertree invites all to witness Æthelmearc’s Crown Tourney on the beautiful fields of the Little Falls City School District, at the High School (1 High School Road, Little Falls, NY 13365). The site will open no earlier than 10:00am, on Saturday, October 17th, 2009, and can easily accommodate pavilions and tourney shades.
Combatants will be given preference and reserved ring-side space for their pavilion if they include the information with their reservation.
There are 2 cafeterias available, so there is space inside in case the weather turns inclement, or for just resting, talking and eating. A Dayboard will be included in your site fee of just $10 (plus the $3 Non-Member Surcharge, if applicable), from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Merchants are welcome – there is no additional fee. There is also room if any orders wish to have meetings – just let us know!
Please note that there is room for unloading, but vehicles MUST be moved to the parking lot. They cannot stay on the side of the road. Also, because it is a school, no alcohol, no open flames, and no smoking on school property.

The autocrats are arranging a discount group rate at the Knights Inn, downtown Little Falls, right on the route in to, and about a mile from the site.

Checks should be made out to “SCA, Inc. – Shire of Coppertree”. The site fee is $10 a person, with a $3 Non-Member Surcharge if you are not a member or do not have your membership card. Photocopies of the card included with a reservation will make check-in go much faster! Under 10 years old is a $5 site fee, under 4 is free.
Please help us by making your reservations in advance, including your email or your phone so that we may contact you with confirmation that we received it, or with any questions we have.
There will be an express check-in line for anyone pre-registered, especially to help the Combatants, Consorts, and Kingdom Staff.
Bonus! Anyone who sends their reservation, and copy of the blue card, in by October 3rd not only gets the EXPRESS check-in line, we will have a ticket for a plate of hearty goodies for lunch for you, from a full chicken leg to dessert, that will not be on the Dayboard table of nibbles!

Directions:
It is only 5 miles from the NYS Thruway (I-90) exit 29A, Little Falls. From the toll booth, go to the stop sign at the end of the extended ramp. This is past a bridge over the Mohawk. Turn left onto SR-5 West / SR-167 West for 0.4 mi. Turn right to stay on SR-167 / S Ann St 1.3 mi (Bear right when you come to a T intersection). Turn right onto High School Rd 0.6 mi. The fighting field is on your right, the school on your left. We will be using the back entrance to the school, directly into the cafeterias. There is no parking there (not even to check in, please) as it will only hold 5 cars.
